Capital One Coders Camp Week of 8/9/2021
HCPS Robotics and Programming Camp July 7-10, 2014
Eileen Malick, a Computer Science Teacher from Atlee High School in Hanover County Public Schools in Mechanicsville, Virginia first contacted Dr. Tom Lauwers the founder/owner of BirdBrain Technologies LLC in Fall 2013 about the availability of Finch Robot Tutorials for and upcoming Girl Scout/Boy Scout Patchathon for activities for merit badges with the Finch 1.0 robots. After hearing tutorials would not be right away, Eileen used the concept of Scratch Programming Cards from MIT (no longer exist with the upgrade of Scratch) in order to create a set of easy-to-follow printable cards so students/scouts could learn the fundamental concepts of finch robot cards.
Several years and several successful camps later (the latest was the Capital One Coders Camp the week of 8/9/2021) Mrs. Malick will travel to BirdBrain Technologies LLC in TBD 2022 to work on a new set of Finch 2.0 cards (Micro:bit 1.0 and 2.0 series) but in the meantime will continue to update cards and finch 1.0 and finch 2.0 information. |
